The power of three! No, not our favourite sisters, Piper, Phoebe and Prue/Paige from critical hit TV series Charmed, but the three hours you’ll spend at WEA Adult Learning for their Elements of Magic course.
This course has been specifically designed for those who would like to further understand their spirituality and own potential.
Your teacher for the evening, Lidwina Masters, wants to reframe the negative connotations magic often has, instead equipping people to connect with the universe and and encouraging them to look within at the intuitive magic inside.
The class is hands-on, taking you through activities like creating spells, as well as making witches ladders and sage sticks.
You will write your spells down and bottle them to preserve the positive energy of a spell cast over your own life. The witch ladder is a tool that helps you focus on something, perhaps a goal or a dream, and gives you a visual to work towards.
The sage sticks help banish negative energies and are used to clear the home, similar to the witches doorbell you will make, which is a charm used to ward away energy you don’t want in your home.
Aside from making objects that will help you on the journey of gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and your own soul, you will also spend a little time learning about Wicca work.
Lidwina talks about Salem women in Medieval times who were usually herbalists or alchemists who were using their knowledge of the Earth for medicines, yet were punished in unjust ways.
You won’t walk away thinking you’re a witch, but you will have a new understanding about how the intent you have can guide the course of your life and shape the energies around you.
