Thirsty Tiger launches Sunday Recovery Brunches in West End with great food and tunes

Thirsty Tiger are launching new permanent ‘Recovery Brunches’ every Sunday with great food, cocktails and a DJ with awesome tunes.

Sunday sessions are an institution for the party crew, especially those recovering from a fun Saturday night out. Thirsty Tiger’s new permanent ‘Recovery Brunches’ are perfect for those still in party mode, with plenty on the table for those feeling fresh after a good night spent at home.

“Think groovey house and disco music from @dancespace, sun shining through the windows, disco balls reflecting around the room. Mimosas in hands and bodies moving in seats. What would you rather be doing on a Sunday afternoon?,” General Manager Elisha Guglielmucci says.

The name ‘Recovery Brunch’ seems fitting, since Thirsty Tiger also doubles as an Asian tropicana cocktail bar and restaurant, providing an ‘elevated’ Hindley Street experience every Saturday night.

After trialling an extremely successful first ever bottomless brunch over the Easter weekend, they decided to continue the tradition and cement the brunch menu in place every Sunday from 11am – 4pm.

“It’s the recovery we all need on a Sunday, whether you’ve been out on the town or not. The menu has something for everyone, a greasy meal to fight the hangover, smashed avocado or a green goddess salad for all our health queens,” Guglielmucci says.

The venue is siblings with 99 Gang Social which is an edgy, hip bar and restaurant also on Hindley Street and Gang Gang Parkside which is a brunch-loving delight which sets the precedent for the menu at Thirsty Tiger.

“Nina and Jules created the menu based on what they’d like to eat for brunch and what was missing on the West End. It’s a brand new menu, fresh produce and great value,” Guglielmucci says.

It’s not often you venture to Hindley Street in the morning, but it adds to the missing brunch offering available in the West End.

“While we were building we had tourists asking us on the street where to get brunch so we came to the conclusion that hindley street needs another brunch venue. We were also sitting in the venue with the natural light beaming through the windows and thought it’s perfect for brunch or a day time celebration,” she says.

Some great menu items include Seggsy Time, which is wagyu steak, fried eggs and cafe de paris butter sauce which has been very popular and Breakfast in Bed for the sweet-tooths which is French toast, pandan custard, boba and stone fruit.

The hot honey sauce is also a crowd favourite, you’ll find it on the menu with the smashed avocado as well as the grilled halloumi which is available as an extra side to share. No regrets, the double smashed beef burger is also a hit and a good one to line the stomach after a night of drinking or before a Sunday sesh.

Then there is the bottomless cocktail option which you can add to any meal. Spend $45 for 1.5 hours of bottomless mimosa’s, bloody tigers (a wasabi vodka infused bloody mary) and let’s get physical (a twist on a rhubarb infused bellini).

No matter how you’re feeling or what you’re celebrating on a Sunday morning, Thirsty Tiger has got you covered. The venue may also be adding a Saturday morning brunch option soon.
