After years at the forefront of the Adelaide tattoo artistry scene, Aleisha Gannon is using her impressive suite of artistic skills to help those looking to regain something we all take for granted. Our nipples.

For those who have been overcome Breast cancer, the challenge post-surgery, for some, is to reconstruct their breasts. While breast reconstruction helps some of the way, the nipples are an area which can often look quite different to their pre-surgery form.

To combat this, Aleisha has launched Pink Lotus Breast Restoration, which assists in two different ways with temporary and permanent nipple tattoos.

Temporary Nipple Tattoos

For many women, after having a mastectomy and the following radiation sessions, their skin can be left thin and their immune systems vulnerable, which won’t allow tattooing to be an immediate possibility. Aleisha has designed a set of incredibly realistic looking temporary tattoos of nipples in three shades to suit all skin tones (Brown Betty, Latté Lucy and Pink Priscilla). They work like any other temporary tattoo and can last from 5-14 days.

Permanent 3D Nipple Tattooing

For those with stronger breast tissue to work with, Aleisha can recreate a 3D nipples using her skills as a tattoo artist. The session takes under 2 hours and leaves an impressive result. Aleisha will then follow up with another 1-2 sessions where she can inspect the colour correction upon healing, and can add further details.

Aleisha said her inspiration for launching Pink Lotus Breast Restoration came from when she volunteered her tattooing services at the YWCA Encore Support Program at Flinders Hospital, for women who have undergone breast cancer treatment. Exposed to so many intimate and personal journeys, Aleisha was confronted by how prominent and consistent breast cancer is in the lives of women in todays society.

“I wanted there to be a decent product that we can give our friends, our sisters, our mothers, our daughters when they are told the horrible news they will have to lose their breasts,” she says.

Aleisha is hoping to stock her temporary nipple tattoos at wig & bra shops around Australia which cater for Mastectomy clients, but for now you can buy her products online where you can choose between singles, or the trio to colour match and then follow with a 3 or 6 month supply. She encourages them as a gift for loved ones post-operation to get them back into the groove of things.

She also promises more colours and some funkier options too, so keep an eye out on her website.

For those interested, Aleisha also offers an artistic approach where she can create beautiful artwork to cover mastectomy scars in her Ink Haus Creative Studios on the outskirts of Adelaide in Hackney, South Australia.
