This winter, Beresford Estate is flipping the script, offering you a chance to experience the magic of a wedding reception in their beautiful estate, without a bride and groom, or even an invite!
On Saturday, July 19, the McLaren Vale property will host a wedding-themed dinner like no other, giving guests the full reception experience – champagne, music, a decadent three-course menu, and even a few cheeky wedding surprises.
The idea was born from the many guests who would casually say, “I’d love to go to a wedding here.” So, Beresford figured, why not throw one?
“We started planning at the end of wedding season, knowing we had some gaps in the off-season,” organisers said.
“This is the first time we’ve hosted something like this, and we wanted to offer the public a chance to experience its magic.”
Magic is exactly what’s on the menu. Guests will be greeted with canapés and champagne on arrival, before moving into a lavishly styled reception-style space, complete with decorated long table settings and mood lighting to match the elegance of a real wedding.
The evening will follow the flow of a typical wedding reception, minus the ceremony of course, and will feature welcome drinks, music and plated meals.
While organisers are staying tight-lipped on the full entertainment lineup, they have confirmed a DJ and a handful of “wedding-inspired surprises” designed to add that special spark to the evening.
As for the food, the menu features dishes from Beresford’s exclusive wedding menu, typically only served at private functions on the estate.
Guests will enjoy a set entrée, alternate drop mains with shared sides, and platters of dessert canapés to finish, including a slice of wedding cake, naturally. The four-hour drinks package features Beresford wines, Vale Brewing beers, 23rd Street RTDs, and Bickford’s soft drinks.
Beresford is a breathtaking location nestled within 70 acres of rolling vineyards, and the estate is usually reserved only for private events. The dinner is a rare opportunity for the public to view the space and enjoy a night of good food, fine wine, and celebration in the renowned Gallery Room. With just 100 guests expected, it’s set to be an intimate and unforgettable night out.

“Dress to impress,” says the team. “It’s a chance to get glammed up, have a dance, and soak in the fun of a wedding without having to bring a gift.”
Tickets are $200 and strictly limited.
