This New App Could Get You 50% Off Adelaide Restaurants (And Marco Pierre White’s Involved)

And it has the backing of none other than Marco Pierre White!

There are plenty of food apps around these days, but when one has the backing of Marco Pierre White, it’s more than enough to make you sit up and take notice.

Australian start-up EatClub is launching its app in Adelaide this week, giving diners access to last minute deals, and helping venues fill empty seats.

Venues already on board include Electra House, 2KW, Propaganda, Burgastronomy, Midnight Spaghetti, A Hereford Beefstouw, Jack Greens, Belgian Beer Cafe, Thanh Thanh Vietnamese, Caffiend Coffee Company and Hello Sarnie.

The app allows restaurants to push out live deals, nominating the amount of tables available, the discount on offer and the available time period. Customers can then redeem the deals via the app, in real-time, and eat out at a substantial discount.

Founded by Pan Koutlakis, Ben Tyler, and Matt Cantelo in Melbourne, the trio took a chance and cold-emailed Marco Pierre White about the concept.

It was a bold move, but one that paid off, with the celebrity chef not only offering his endorsement but buying into the business.

Since launching in Melbourne less than a year ago, Eat Club has expanded to Sydney and Brisbane, with more than 1,200 EatClub venues now on board offering customers up to 50% their whole bill. And venues range from casual burger joints right up to fine dining and hatted-restaurants, with Rockpool Dining Group, Ormeggio Group, Spice Temple and The Meatball & Wine Bar.

Originally from Adelaide himself, co-founder Pan said the app is all about getting more people dining out and enjoying food the way it’s meant to be eaten – straight from the kitchen.

“Before our app, I think with good restaurants there was a stigma around deals and good restaurants didn’t do deals,” he said.

“We’ve created an app that does it in a very different way, so the fact restaurants can control their yield in such a last minute and granula way, it means that we can partner with amazing restaurants.”

And Adelaide is just part of their expansion – next up the team has their eyes on the US market, launching EatClub in New York City in January 2019.

To celebrate their launch in Adelaide, EatClub is throwing a burger party at Burgastronomy in North Adelaide on Thursday November 22, with FREE BURGERS!

The first 200 new customers to open the EatClub app from 5pm on Thursday who redeem a ‘free burger’ deal from Burgastronomy’s EatClub profile can head down to the North Adelaide store for a free burger. Find out more info here

The EatClub app is available to download on the App Store and Google Play.
