Good for your health, the environment, and now your tastebuds – the vegan food scene is growing exponentially, and Adelaide’s newest city shopfront has your vegan cakes covered!
Nathan Bakes, located on Grenfell St, opposite City Cross, is the creation of qualified pastry chef Nathan, born out of a the belief that life is too short for bad cake.
Due to the fact that many bakery goods contain ingredients vegans and anyone with particular dietary requirements avoid, they generally miss out, or worse, are served up sub-par offerings!
Nathan Bakes are a 100% vegan & gluten free bakery, but you wouldn’t know it nibbling on their moist, tasty and inventive flavours, such as Strawberry Balsamic, Danger Zone!, or Salted Caramel Choc Mud.
Everything at Nathan Bakes is produced in house from scratch, including their vegan chocolate ganache and vegan salted caramel, both of which go into their signature spoil yourself drink – the ‘Hug in a Mug’.
They offer a full range of non-dairy milks as standard for their coffees and iced drinks. Inclusive are the usual suspects – Soy and Almond milk – but Nathan Bakes also offers Macadamia, Rice and Coconut milk … and all for no surcharge!
The goodness doesn’t end there. As part of their eco-conscious business model, they are as green as possible, with all of their takeaway packaging being 100% compostable – even their bottled water is extracted from plants and vegetables!
To help celebrate their opening, they’re passing the vegan cake goodness onto you! All week, customers will be given a free mini-cupcake with any purchase, so make sure to head down and check out what all the fuss is about!
