Rotisserie Rolls, Meat From The Spit, And Craft Beers Make This River Spot A Serious Sunday Session Contender

Malt Shovel Taphouse heroes local spit-rotisserie meats, celebrates live music and provides unrivalled city views. We think your newest winter destination has been found.

There’s nothing better than finding cosy, winter destinations as drizzly, grey clouds roll in over our state.

And we think we may have found your newest city spot. Perched on the riverbank is Malt Shovel Taphouse: an unexpected, wintery delight.

Decked out with heaters, live music and a warming menu, the venue is well and truly winter ready. After all, what goes better with chilly days than a warm, hearty meal?!

Malt Shovel Taphouse’s head chef, Kane Boase, prides himself on a menu that heroes local spit-rotisserie meats.

Some of the standout food items available include rotisserie rolls and meat ‘from the spit’, paired with carefully selected craft beer beverages.

Just check out the freshly carved porchetta off the rotisserie above (top featured photo)! It’s matched with the Panhead Pale ale with fruity notes and lighter malt base. (If that doesn’t scream winter heaven then we don’t know what does.)

But word of a rotisserie based menu shouldn’t turn away visitors who don’t opt for meat as the carefully curated menu features many vegetarian plates.

Think salt & pepper tofu with pressed watermelon, mandarins and shallot onions, crumbed and spiced Swiss mushrooms, and agave-glazed roasted pumpkin with yoghurt and toasted seeds.

With talks of a sleek new smoker coming soon, we’re keen to be tasting (and smelling) the delicious meals coming out of Malt Shovel Taphouse.

With Little Creatures, White Rabbit, Brooklyn Brewery, Byron Bay Brewery, Eumundi and Kosciuszko on tap – Malt Shovel Taphouse might have one of the rarest limited release brews available in all of Adelaide.

Malt Shovel Taphouse also have free acoustic live music every day of every month. Check out their music events here. (Note: dancing is another fabulous way to keep warm!)

Family and dog-friendly, you can definitely bring everyone along to this delightful winter location.

The kitchen is open 5pm until 9pm on Tuesday, 5pm until 10pm on Wednesday to Saturday, 11.30am to 3pm Thursday to Sunday, as well as 5pm til 8.30pm on Sunday. You can make your booking here.
