Kicking off this Saturday, March 8th, popular Sri Lankan restaurant Taprobane is launching a new indulgent all-you-can-eat buffet menu for just $39. Each Saturday afternoon, the Unley Road restaurant is dishing up as many items as you like all at a totally affordable price. Between 12 and 3pm you’ll be able to indulge in a generous spread of authentic Sri Lankan favourites until you’re completely full to the brim.
On its expansive buffet menu there is truly something for everyone – the spice lovers, diners craving the classics, and even a selection for the sweet tooths. The all-you-can-eat menu will switch up almost every week, keeping it fresh for each new visit.
This Saturday, though, you can grab yourself curries from a selection of dhal, eggplant moju, cashew curry, pork black curry, or spicy Chicken curry. Then, shake things up with devilled prawns and tempered sprats (small oily sardine-like fish). Also on offer is a selection of sambal dishes (a chilli sauce-based dish), including coconut, seeni (sweet) and kuni. Pair it all with a selection of fried rices and papadams, and finish off your meal with kiri pani (a traditional Sri Lankan dessert made with buffalo curd and treacle), biscuit pudding, or bread and butter pudding.
With a huge menu full of beautiful traditional Sri Lankan dishes, and a generous three-hour period to enjoy as much as you like, it almost feels like a happy hour for food!
Having just expanded its outdoor area to a festive courtyard full of tiki huts, the restaurant is making a strong case as the place to be this March long weekend. As Taprobane enters a new era, co-owner Shreeni Randeniya said diners can expect bold spices, mouthwatering aromas, and a tropical escape.
Moving from a leisurely early-afternoon sitting, the restaurant’s sunny outdoor courtyard is the perfect place to ease into the Saturday evening of your long weekend.
Drinks will be flowing, with a host of cocktails on offer, and of course plenty more food. So if you’re hungry for a delicious Sri Lankan all-you-can-eat menu, make your way down to Taprobane on Saturday from 12pm.
