This Tour Will Take You Foraging For Your Own Food In Adelaide’s Surrounds

You may never look at going to the supermarket the same again after this Tasting Australia event.

You may never look at going to the supermarket the same again after this Tasting Australia event.

The Wild Adelaide: Forage, Graze, Adventure Tour on Sunday April 14, will take you on a 6.5 hour journey to discover native and naturalised culinary delights in the wild.

Leaving from Victoria Square, the tour will travel from the coast all the way to the Adelaide Hills on a specially curated expedition, with wild, local and foraged food and beverages along the way.

Throughout the day you’ll enjoy 4-5 courses grazing-style along the way and a glass of wine plus wine tastings and other beverages.

The experience is the creation of Tiffany Schultz from Conscious Lifestyles, who has a background in ecology and natural resource management and wanted to give people, “the antithesis of the supermarket experience”.

“These days we generally go only as far as our local supermarkets with a list to obtain food, often in packaged form, or to the internet to purchase food online,” she said.

“We do this often with little awareness of whats in season or growing locally, where the food came from and how it was grown, or even what ingredients present in packaged goods. Learning to observe the landscape and season, is an eye opening experience.”

The emphasis of the tour will be on foraging in nature, but you may also visit a winemaker or food producer, and will traverse the urban environment as well. The full lineup will be announced on their Facebook page.

Tickets are $169 + bf available through the Tasting Australia website.
