Rising Sun Pictures have just announced they will work on Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder.

Rising Sun Pictures (RSP), one of Australia’s premiere visual effects studio, is based right here in Adelaide. The company has garnered international acclaim for its work in creating visual effects for Hollywood blockbuster films and television shows including Thor: Ragnarok, Academy Award nominated X-Men: Days of Future Past, Game of Thrones and Academy Award winning Gravity.

The team at RSP were excited to announce that they will be working with renowned director Taika Waititi and visual effects professional Jake Morrison on Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder set to release next year after a huge triumph while working on Thor: Rangnarok; the franchises’ third instalment.

Highlights of RSP’s contributions to the film included a sequence dubbed “Val’s Flashback” involving a furious battle between the film’s villain, Hela (Cate Blanchett), and an army of Valkyrie. The team also played a key role in “The Palace Battle”, an epic confrontation between Hela and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

The project was especially noteworthy for the standout work of RSP’s expanded character animation department, who were tasked with creating photo-real horses, Valkyrie and skeleton soldiers, as well as other digital characters.

Over the past two decades, Rising Sun Pictures has been delighting and inspiring audiences worldwide, by creating some of Hollywood’s most memorable screen moments.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently in production and set to release in May of 2022.
