Three Must Stop Spots Along The Spectacular Fleurieu Peninsula

Picturesque. Breathtaking. Unreal. Get out and explore some of the best that our amazing state has to offer with these three must visit spots!

Autumn. The perfect season to be outdoors making the most of what’s left of the sunshine.

Before you start thinking about hibernating for the Winter, why not pack the tent and escape for an effortless weekend away?

We hit up our resident explorer of all things Adelaide and South Australia Camille Rose a.k.a Adelaide_Streets on Instagram to get her tips…

I love nothing more than going on an adventure! Let’s just say I don’t like sitting still for too long and the thought of what’s out there gets me excited! If, like me, you love dabbling in all of the things that our amazing state has to offer then you probably love everything about the Fleurieu Peninsula.

If you head south of Adelaide City along the Southern Expressway towards Kangaroo Island, you will come across the most picturesque scenery. Curving around hills with the ocean on the other side and the sun glistening across the water is really a sight not to miss!

My three must stop spots along the Fleurieu Peninsula are:

Second Valley
A small town where the water is the bluest of blue, you will find a hidden treasured beach that has something for everyone to do. If you like fishing, hiking, cliff jumping or just relaxing by the beach, I strongly suggest you put Second Valley on your list. If you are wanting to make a weekend of it, there is a family friendly caravan park a short 5 min walk from the beach with all utilities for a comfortable stay.

Rapid Bay
If you are more interested in a weekend that includes jetty jumping, fishing, scuba diving, camping with friends or just taking in the surroundings, Rapid Bay is the place for you. Rapid Bay is one of the top 10 Jetty Dive spots in Australia and is home to the leafy Sea Dragon. There is an open campground you can stay at with barbeques and amenities.

Cape Jervis
On edge of the coast surrounded by luscious green hills meeting the sea is Cape Jervis. It’s a beautiful little town that really creates a country feel. There is so much to see here with a lighthouse, sand dunes and not to mention Kangaroo Island in the distance. So why not hire a cottage for the weekend and enjoy some cheese and wine with a view?

With another long weekend on its way and the school holidays kicking off soon, now is a great time to book in some downtime and to explore everything that the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer.
