Three Stuffed Mums: Still Stuffed – 2012 Adelaide Fringe

Three Stuffed Mums: Still StuffedPresented by Maggie Wood, Kate Burr & Kehau Jackson
Reviewed Sunday 26th February 2012

Their situation hasn't really changed since last year, but the stories have gotten funnier for these three comics suffering through motherhood.

Kate Burr is physically stuffed with a baby, Maggie Wood is mentally stuffed with a teenage son, and Kehau Jackson loves to say "get stuffed" now she's an empty nester.

In last year's show, the Three Stuffed Mums talked about raising children. This year, their stories continue as they look outward to examine issues like aging, retirement, sagging body parts, child protection laws, fathers and the world's first single parent. Their kids get a mention, of course, but the jokes are broader and the laughs are even greater.

The three women bounce off each other beautifully and sing a comical ditty between solo stand-up routines. There are no in-jokes to exclude men or those without children. The comedy is universal and delivered with expert timing.

Quite possibly the funniest show not-quite-in town.
