South Australia’s Pink Army will be out in force this weekend, as The Adelaide Thunderbirds look to break a decade-long Premiership drought, when they take on Sydney Swifts in Saturday night’s Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final.
While thousands of netball fans prepare to make their way to Melbourne, to the sold-out match at John Cain Arena, the Pink Army will also be cheering on the T’Birds from various locations across SA. And if the nail-biting semi-final, which saw Adelaide steal a two-goal victory over the Swifts in time-on is anything to go by, the Grand Final showdown will be an edge-of-your-seat thriller.
The Thunderbirds offical “Watch Party” will be held at Sporty’s Bar + Arena at The Arkaba. You can witness all the live action from the first centre pass at 6.30pm, with the sport’s bar turning pink to throw its support behind the SA team . There’s plenty of capacity in front of the big screen, but if you want to secure a spot, table bookings can be made by phoning the Arkaba on 8338 1100.
The game won’t be shown on free-to-air TV, so if you don’t have Foxtel or Kayo, or you don’t want to cheer on the T-Birds alone, SkyCity Adelaide will also stream the match, with food and drinks also available at the District Bar, followed by live entertainment from folk, country and blues band, South Season.
Other venues streaming the game include The Rosey on Hindley Street, Happy Valley Sports and Social Club, Long Plains Rec Ground and Kangaroo Island will be getting behind their home grown champion, Georgie Horjus, with a Watch Party at Parndana Hotel.
