Netball fans across the nation are gearing up as tickets for the highly anticipated Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final 2024 have gone on sale. The event is set to be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 3 August.
The final match of the 2024 season is projected to draw a large crowd, including spectators from both South Australia and interstate. The Adelaide Entertainment Centre, known for hosting significant sporting and entertainment events, promises an energetic atmosphere as teams vie for the top title.
This year’s Grand Final not only focuses on the fierce competition on court but also offers a complete fan experience with several off-the-court activities. Fans will have a range of options to level up their Grand Final day. Open training sessions with the two finalist teams will also occur before the Grand Final, for those who want to watch the preparation for the big game.
Zoe Bettison, Minister for Tourism, emphasized the importance of the event for the state. “Get in quick to secure your tickets to what is sure to be an epic Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre this August,” she stated. The Minister expressed enthusiasm about hosting the nation’s premier netball event and its positive impact on winter tourism in South Australia. “South Australia is set to welcome fans from across the state and country for the 2024 premiership playoff, helping provide a welcome boost to visitation in the cooler months,” Bettison added.
The Minister also highlighted the broader benefits of hosting such an event. “Hosting the best netballers in the country helps build on the state’s reputation as the place to see elite sporting events,” Bettison noted, also expressing hope for the local team’s success. “Let’s hope the Adelaide Thunderbirds can make it back-to-back titles – this time on their home court.”
Stacey West, CEO of Netball Australia, shared the organisation’s excitement about bringing the premier national netball event to Adelaide in partnership with the South Australian Government. “We are thrilled to be able to provide a range of experiences for fans across this year’s Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final,” she commented.
The hosting of the Super Netball Grand Final is part of a bustling winter events schedule in South Australia which includes Illuminate Adelaide, the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships, and the Winter Reds festival all taking place in July.
