It’s time to let your fur down, as there’s a pretty groovy day coming up, and it’s one you and your dog won’t want to miss. Woofstock, inspired by the iconic Woodstock festival, is rolling into the City of Marion this November, with a day that’s all about peace, love, and our furriest of friends.
On Saturday, November 22nd, Hazelmere Reserve will transform into the ultimate canine-friendly festival, bringing together live music, food trucks, and colourful costumes. There are two sessions to choose from, running from 9:30am to 11:30am and again from 12pm to 2pm. Tickets are required for both humans and pups to ensure the day stays safe and fun for everyone.
The event is designed to bring dog owners, families, and locals together in a relaxed, festival-style setting. “Hazelmere Reserve is a very popular dog park, and Woofstock is the perfect way to celebrate it. With all sorts of activities and treats, it will be a great day out for dogs and their humans,” shared Mayor of Marion Kris Hanna.
On the day, market stalls will be selling everything from gourmet dog treats to pet photography sessions and accessories, while information booths from local pet organisations such as the Animal Welfare League will be there to share tips on caring for your furry friends. There will also be live acoustic music and performances from a local dance school.
For those who love a bit of friendly competition, the ‘best dressed’ parade will be one to join in on or watch. Owners and their dogs are encouraged to dress up in their brightest and best hippy gear, like tie-dye, bandanas, peace signs, and flower crowns, for a fashion-on-the-field-style runway. There will be prizes for the most creative looks, so go all out!
No festival is complete without good food, and Woofstock has that covered, too. Local food trucks and coffee vans will be serving up treats for the humans, while the pups can enjoy their own snacks from the dog-friendly stalls.
