St Vinnies are urging the public to help those in need by donating as little as a few empty cans of coke or juice bottles.

St Vinnies have joined forces with recycling depots Recyclers SA and Scrap Hotline and is encouraging the public to donate their empty bottles and cans in order to help those in need in an initiative that has been dubbed ‘Tinnies for Vinnies’.

With Tinnies for Vinnies, locals are encouraged to drop their recyclable cans and bottles into specially marked Vinnies bins at participating recycling depots within SA.

Vinnies will then use the 10 cent refund from each donation to help those who are doing in tough at the moment, whether it’s by providing food, clothes and/or shelter.

This initiative will enable Vinnies to continue assisting over 100,000 people who turn to the organisation for help each year, as well as those who are facing personal and financial hardship due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Locals can donate their cans and bottles by visiting Scrap Hotline and Recyclers SA depots from Mount Gambier to Oodnadatta.

If you would like to give back to those in need during this trying time, find a full list of depots participating in Tinnies for Vinnies here.
