Wine, tacos and live music pop-up at McLaren Vale’s Clink

Hardys Wines Tintara and McLaren Vale Hotel have teamed to bring SA a new pop-up entertainment and dining experience just in time for summer.

Summer is in the air in South Australia, and with the sun set to shine this weekend, there’s never been a better time to get outside and explore one of our stunning wine regions.

While McLaren Vale is known for all things historic and boutique wineries and rolling vines, two of the most loved institutions, Hardys Wines Tintara and McLaren Vale Hotel have teamed to bring SA a new pop-up entertainment and dining experience just in time for summer.

As our summer gears up to be one of good wine, good food and great friends – Clink at Tintara will take your sunny Saturday sessions and twilight Friday nights to the next level.

Quietly launching early December, Clink at Tintara is slinging chilled beverages and spicy tacos to guests of the McLaren Vale locale from their bright orange van.

“We wanted to create a dynamic destination for couples, families or large groups,” says Palmer Hospitality Managing Director Martin Palmer. “Clink is the ideal venue to enjoy a long summer day and linger late into the evening.”

Taste the best the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer, with the pop-up pouring some of the best local wines by the glass, and beers and ciders on tap.

Guests can also choose from a generous menu of ‘Clink G+T’s’, featuring popular spirits from McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island regions. Treat yourself to an icy cold cocktail, including Mexican favourite, the Margarita with Arquitecto Blanco Tequila, agave syrup and lime.

“We want the drinks menu to be an extension of the venue – unexpected, but delightful,” continues Palmer.

In the natural amphitheatre, there will also be an exciting entertainment program, Fig Gigs. Much like the venue, the line-up is quirky and fun. From acoustic songwriters to DJs – Clink will come alive with sound from local artists.

Sprawl out underneath the biggest Morton Bay Tree in the Southern Hemisphere, listen to live music and bask in the glorious summer sunshine as you treat yourself to a well-deserved G+T.

But the pop-up fun doesn’t stop there! The new, purpose-built food truck Nito Burr-rito will be slinging Latino Mexican ‘street food’, spearheaded by the McLaren Vale Hotel Executive Chef, Simon Burr.

Dishing up delicious tapas, from ‘bunellos’ (zucchini fritter with tomatillo sauce) to ‘chillies rellenos’ (stuffed jalapenos with chipotle mayo) and tacos guests can treat themselves to the amazing creations dreamed up by Burr.

Indulge in exciting combinations of battered mullet, citrus salsa, crème fraiche and herbs or vegetarian chilli con-carne with picco de gallo and herbs.

As a sign of the times, food can be ordered online via QR codes from tables or picnic spots, and tableware is produced sustainably and 100% recyclable.

Clink will be run from 3rd December 2021 until the end of March 2022.

Opening Hours: Fridays, Saturdays 12PM – Late and Sundays 12PM – 8PM

Fig Gig Set Times: Fridays 7 – 10PM, Saturday 4 – 7PM, 7PM – 10PM and Sunday 2 – 5PM
