Tomich Wines Bring Us Polo In The Park, The Polo For The People

A stylish, sparkling polo event in the park, and it is for all of the people…

The pounding of hooves, the swinging of mallets… The Game of Kings will get hearts racing when it hits Victoria Park Friday night.

Tomich Wines Polo in the Park returns with and you will want to go if not just for the suave fashion, and the Pimms you will have in your hand, and then there are the oh so charming Polo players.

Lords and Ladies, channel your inner royalty for the most sophisticated social gathering. The popular twilight event is being held as part of the 2015 Australian International Three Day Event (Aus3de) and will be a nail biting showcase of power, beauty and equestrian athleticism.

Even better, this event will be open to all members of the public for free (oh how we love that word) because this is the adrenaline-fuelled polo for the people.

Tomich Wines Polo in the Park attracts equestrian enthusiasts, corporates, general public and tourists alike. And this year, some the best players from across Australia will be involved.

“Tomich is proud to be sponsoring the Tomich Wines Polo in the Park. I have fond memories of riding horses through the vineyards when I was young, and thought this event would be a great opportunity to combine two things I love: wine and horses,” said Randal Tomich, Tomich Wines.

The evening will feature music, fashion, player interviews and bars with direct views of the polo field. There’s also the option of enjoying the spectacle from the exclusive VIP marquee, which includes luxury lounges, arena-side tables, tantalising food and drinks, and the opportunity to rub shoulders with Australia’s elite polo players.

South Australian celebrities, including fashion icon Liza Emanuele and The Advertiser’s Antimo Iannella, will judge the hotly contested Fashions in the Field competition in the VIP Chairman’s Lounge.

Wondering what to wear? Well don’t fret because we have asked the expert. Liza Emanuele shares her Top 5 Tips for Polo wear:

1 PLAN For all race events have a Plan A outfit (warm dry weather) and Plan B (colder wet weather) looks ready to roll. There’s nothing worse than rushing at the last minute trying to make something work.

2 FOUNDATIONS Hidden gems such as the right bra or shape wear (if needed) will make a great basis for any outfit. In terms of makeup, invest in a good quality subtle tan foundation for a flawless finish. Get all these factors right and you have a massive head start to looking your best.

3 APPROPRIATE The Polo dress code is about smart, sophisticated looks with a good dose of glamour; nothing too over the top (it’s not a night club), nothing too casual (it’s not a BBQ). Think a gorgeous print flowing dress with cropped 3/4 sleeve jacket, or a well fitted white dress with fun contrast colour accessories that suit you and your personality.

4 HEADWEAR and FOOTWEAR Fascinators have no place at the Polo!! The perfect look for Tomich Wines Polo in the Park would be a simple Summer hat such as a men’s inspired straw fedora or a classy Panama hat. Great hair and stylish sunglasses are prerequisites and a gorgeous wedge is the perfect choice for shoes.

5 MENS STYLE Think classic cool – a collared shirt, well fitted pants, a quality knit and great accessories.
