1. THE SOHO SUPPER CLUB | AUGUST 1 – 25
Organised by Out In The Paddock (OITP) in collaboration with Festival Plaza, The Soho Supper Club is known for uniquely bringing together atmosphere, local flavours, and entertainment. Last year’s season charmed guests with a glasshouse marquee and botanical vibe, moody lounge settings, some of the state’s finest local produce, and a little bit of “wow”. This isn’t going to be just any winter dining experience; it’s been designed to completely enchant guests, and we’re expecting a huge season of unforgettable evenings at Festival Plaza.

2. FLEURIEU FOOD FESTIVAL | AUGUST 1 – 31
August sees the welcome return of the Fleurieu Food Festival for its third consecutive year, featuring over 50 culinary events across the peninsula. The month-long celebration will draw food enthusiasts from all corners to explore the rich gastronomic landscape of the area. Local businesses, ranging from cafes and restaurants to wineries and farms, are set to present a delicious range of premium experiences.

3. SALA FESTIVAL | AUGUST 1 – 31
The South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival is a statewide celebration of visual art, showcasing over 9,000 artists across more than 600 venues. Established in 1998, SALA aims to promote and celebrate the immense talent of South Australia’s visual artists. Throughout August, visitors can enjoy a variety of art tours and participate in city events, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the local art scene. Additionally, the festival collaborates with sponsors and partners to provide awards and residencies, further supporting the artistic community.

4. SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL GRAND FINAL | AUGUST 3
The Adelaide Entertainment Centre is host to 2024’s Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final, with tickets selling like hotcakes. Zoe Bettison, SA Minister for Tourism is elated to “welcome fans from across the state and country for the playoff,” hopeful for back-to-back Adelaide Thunderbird titles. Whether fans make it to the game or watch on elsewhere, the state will be behind the Thunderbirds.

5. CELLAR TREASURES LANGHORNE CREEK | AUGUST 9 – 11
From August 9th to 11th this year, the boutique wine region of Langhorne Creek, less than an hour from Adelaide, will host its highly anticipated Cellar Treasures festival. This three-day event promises to showcase the very best of the area’s award-winning vintages, delectable gourmet food, and live entertainment.

6. ADELAIDE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PERFORM ‘HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE’ LIVE | AUGUST 17
The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) has announced it will continue the Harry Potter Film Concert Series with a live performance of Nicholas Hooper’s score for ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.’ This event is set for 17 August 2024 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, where the full movie will be screened in high-definition on a 40-foot screen.

7. NEAT SIPS FESTIVAL | AUGUST 24 – 25
The McLaren Vale distillery will host a new event ‘Neat Sips’ on August 24 and 25 which will be a dedication to the forgotten South Australian icon, fortified wines. The event will showcase both classic and new flavours with attendees able to try private cellar drops, flavourful cocktails, and discover or re-discover a love for fortified wines all in the picturesque McLaren Vale.

8. TWILIGHT GOURMET FESTIVAL | AUGUST 25
On August 25, Lloyd Brother’s winery will host the Twilight Gourmet Festival for a huge night of wine, food, and all non-stop entertainment. The event will include all the best food the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer along with Kangaroo Island oysters, and award winning wines all enjoyed around open fire pits while relaxing to the best soul and funk tracks.

9. AUSTRALIA’S PREMIER HIKEATHON | AUGUST 31
Marybank Estate will host a full-day celebration of wellness, adventure, and partying this August. Attendees will get the chance to participate in activities such as yoga, running and hiking, before braving a cold plunge. The day will then shift towards a laid back atmosphere with live DJ sets, and healthy meals.

10. Champagne & Caviar Evening at Ayers House
Ayers House, a historic jewel nestled at on North Terrace in Adelaide, is hosting an exclusive Caviar & Champagne Long Table Experience in The Ballroom. Slated for Saturday, August 31st, from 6pm to 10pm, this bucket list event is poised to recreate the opulence of classical fine dining with an irresistible pairing of champagne and caviar. Plus it’s an opportunity to experience a rarely frequented part of Ayer’s House, normally reserved for weddings.
