It’s the first day of March, and there are so many fantastic events on this month as the entire city embarks on one of the most exciting times of the year. The festival season is in full swing, and the streets of Adelaide are well and truly alive. With so much to choose from, here’s our top 10 events in Adelaide this March!
ADELAIDE FESTIVAL | UNTIL MARCH 16

The 2025 Adelaide Festival kicks off in March, with a huge 17-day celebration of arts and culture. This marks the 40th edition of the Festival, which has grown to become a cornerstone event in Australia’s cultural landscape. This year’s festival will see a strong international presence.
Over 65 events are on the schedule, including 11 world premieres, 9 Australian premieres, and 15 exclusive performances, showcasing everything from opera to contemporary dance and literary discussions. The festival will provide a compelling glimpse into the global artistic community and its engagement with pressing contemporary issues.
Literary lovers will also be catered for with the 40th Adelaide Writer’s Week running concurrently. This year’s theme, ‘Words Matter’, features a packed schedule including a new Schools Day and the popular Young Readers Day, that focuses on early literary engagement among children and young people.

ADELAIDE FRINGE | UNTIL MARCH 23

The Adelaide Fringe is the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere! Until March 23rd, the Fringe transforms Adelaide and greater South Australia, stretching from Whyalla all the way across the state to Naracoorte, with eclectic and vibrant events that include cabaret, theatre, comedy, circus, music, visual arts, workshops and so much more.

WOMADELAIDE | MARCH 7 – 10

Known for its eclectic mix of global music, dance, and arts, WOMADelaide continues to be Australia’s premier celebration of cultural diversity. With over three decades of uniting the world’s finest performers, the festival offers a truly immersive experience for attendees to dance, discover, and explore.
Alongside the music, festival-goers can indulge in international cuisine from vibrant food stalls, enjoy the serene fine-dining experience at The Sanctuary Restaurant, and take part in the thought-provoking Planet Talks forum. The KidZone promises a blend of adventure and education for younger festival-goers.

ADELAIDE MOTORSPORT FESTIVAL | MARCH 8 – 9

The 2025 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on March 8th and 9th promises an action-packed weekend featuring Formula 1 cars, V8 supercars, touring cars, and motorbikes.
A key highlight is former Supercars winner Tim Slade, who will race two incredible cars. Beyond the track, the festival offers car displays, food trucks, bars, and a kids’ zone, all in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY | MARCH 8

This International Women’s Day, there are plenty of occasions showcasing the fantastic women and leaders in our community. From luncheons to cocktail hours and marches, there are all sorts of events happening in Adelaide for IWD.
To celebrate the successes of trail-blazing women in the arts, the Art Gallery of South Australia have curated a tremendous lineup of presenters to hear from at their International Women’s Day breakfast.
Also, Adelaide International Women’s Day Breakfast is taking place at the Convention Centre on Friday, March 7th, from 7am. Plus, Adelaide’s International Women’s Day March is being held at Victoria Square on Saturday, March 8th from 10:30am.

GREAT AUSSIE G&T OFF | MARCH 9

Graham Norton, acclaimed Irish comedian, broadcaster, and author, will make his inaugural tour of Australia in 2025 with his show ‘An Evening with Graham Norton’. This unique series of events marks the first time Norton will perform live across multiple Australian cities, offering audiences an intimate evening of entertainment, anecdotes, and a peek behind the curtain of his celebrated career in television.

WESTBOUND ARTS FESTIVAL | MARCH 15

This March, Renew Adelaide is set to spice up Adelaide’s west end with a brand new, mini arts festival dubbed Westbound. Held around North Terrace’s Lion Arts Precinct on Saturday March 15th, this free, curated fiesta will feature an artisan market, food trucks, workshops, pop-up bars, and a lineup of some of Adelaide’s hottest musical talent.
In the marketplace, shoppers can browse a hand-picked selection of nearly 30 stalls, each hosted by emerging and established creatives, including Cadell Canute, Pith Jewellery, Faebel, Chicky Ceramics, SALT GANG and more. Think colourful ceramics, fashion, vinyl records, fine art prints, jarred pickles, handmade jewellery, and so much more.
Plus, some of Adelaide’s most exciting musicians and bands will be performing, headlined by electronic jazz extraordinaire Alexander Flood. Post-punk group The Empty Threats and art-folk quintet Any Young Mechanic will also be lighting up the stage, alongside emerging jazz-funk band Live Slug Reaction and indie pop hitmaker Ebony A Million. To keep the vibes high, WET//DREEMS and Romi will also be performing DJ sets into the evening.

A TASTE OF THE HILLS | MARCH 29 – 30

A Taste of the Hills Festival is returning to LOT.100 this March, bringing the very best of the Adelaide Hills together in one epic location.
With unlimited tastings from more than fifty local producers, masterclasses, scenic helicopter flights, live music, and artisan markets, this is an event that’s not to be missed.
If that wasn’t enough, Aussie rock legends KINGSWOOD will be headlining both days on the festival stage, joined by a stellar lineup of local artists including Ella & Sienna, Pash, Axe & The
