Celebrate our rich cultural heritage with these acts presented by Indigenous Australians during the 2023 Adelaide Fringe.

The Adelaide Fringe festival is an annual opportunity to experience some of the best that SA has to offer, along with celebrating the rich cultural heritage and diverse range of talents throughout Australia.

In 2023, you can grab tickets to presentations, acts and shows from Indigenous Australians, ranging from comedy to music and beyond. We’ve highlighted a few performances which we’re excited to see this Fringe season.

ABORIGINAL COMEDY ALLSTARS

This R18+ ensemble of First Nations Allstars has sold-out seasons and received 5-star reviews throughout Australia and the UK. The strikingly honest stand-up sets from comedians, Sean Choolburra, Kevin Kropinyeri, Andy Saunders, Jay Wymarra and 2022 Deadly Funny Winner Janty Blair.

DUSTY FEET MOB

Young Aboriginal performers Dusty Feet Mob are a contemporary and traditional dance group that strive to tell stories of the Stolen Generation through their art. They are a community that nurtures strength, confidence, and dignity. They build connections to their culture, community, and country.

MALI ISABEL ART: LIVE!

Returning to the Adelaide Fringe 2023 season, emerging Aboriginal artist, Mali Isabel, will be creating her trademark contemporary rainbow artworks in her glass studio. As a proud Arabana and Kokatha woman, Mali loves to draw inspiration from the land that surrounds her, capturing the environments and translating them into magical landscapes. Her work captured the spirit of the Adelaide Fringe as the cover art in 2022.

ELECTRIC SKIES

Drones are back at Adelaide Fringe in 2023, following on from the award-winning show Sky Song comes Electric Skies, a drone show spectacular launching 500 drones over one hundred metres into the night sky. The skies over Pakapakanthi/Victoria Park will light up with a multi-sensory, electrifying light show woven with First Nations language and traditional songs.

BEYOND THE TREES; EXPLORING CONNECTION THROUGH MUSIC, WORDS AND COLOUR

Explore the healing power of nature as local artists share original music, story and art inspired by their deep connection with Country. Bring a rug and picnic, kick off your shoes and enjoy the music and words as the fading light gives way to illuminated gum trees and stunning projections of textured oil paintings.
