Winter is here and don’t we know it! To deal with the iciness of this season, we have compiled a guide with our top tips on what to do over the weekend to stay warm, well fed and hydrated (this includes cocktails of course).

Winter Warmers

It can be easy to lack inspiration on what to do on cold weekends like these, but we just spent two years on our couches, so it is time to get out and see what Adelaide has to offer… even if it is freezing.

South Australia’s Ultimate Fireplace Guide

Lucky for us chilly Adelaidians, we have fireplaces galore to enjoy a beautiful glass of local red in front of. Our guide has split the fireplaces into categories including: wood fireplaces for the purists, gas fireplaces when you’re happy just to get warm, Adelaide Hills venues with fireplaces, and for those who like adventure, wineries with fireplaces – because really, that’s the ultimate destination.

Warm up next to these Outdoor Fire Pits

We have coal-tivated Adelaide’s top outdoor fire pits, to allow you to enjoy Adelaide’s scenic views and landscapes without freezing your tush off!

Remember to call ahead to ensure the fire pits are burning as you arrive at your venue – for optimum warmth of course.

Uraidla’s ‘Winter Soulstice’ Party

If there’s anywhere around that know how to make the most of the colder months it’s our friends at the Uraidla Pub. They’ve got fires and mulled wine completely down pat so it’s no surprise they’ve decided to celebrate the arrival of the colder months with an all-out affair. Read our article to find out more about Winter Soulstice, the Uraidla’s annual party to welcome in the cooler weather.

Templewood House, a 121-year-old country house located on a 200-acre property, is bidding Autumn adieu with its Live Music Picnic Weekend. Yes, that includes fire pits and espresso martinis, a perfect combination in our humble opinion.

Gather with friends and family at this idyllic location, and settle in for a day of vibrant live music, fire pits, local artisan producers and delicious wood oven, handmade pizzas. See our article for more information.

Harvest Pizza Party

Join the team at A.A Magarey and Sons, in the Adelaide Hills and watch the autumn sun set over the rolling hills with ‘Wild Pizza’ preparing a feast of wood-fired pizza, packed with locally grown produce and Adelaide’s best DJs providing chilled background beats.

This event is a chance to toast the change of season and celebrate at a fifth-generation family-run orchard that was established in 1909
