Two new and exciting acts have been added to the stellar line up, taking to the Elder Park stage this Saturday, December 7.

South Australia’s largest Christmas carols concert, Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight, has added two new and exciting acts to the stellar line up, taking to the Elder Park stage this Saturday, December 7.

Since opening on Broadway in 2015, School of Rock has performed to millions of audiences across Melbourne, China, South Korea, Brisbane and Auckland. Before their Adelaide 2020 season, School of Rock has a very special performance for this year’s Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight, led by the extraordinary Joe Kosky (playing Dewey Finn).

Shauna Kane, Executive Producer of Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight, says, “We are thrilled to have the School of Rock cast join our already impressive line up! Our audience can expect to see a high-energy performance on the Elder Park stage.”

One of Australia’s leading ladies, Silvie Paladino, has also joined this year’s star-studded line up. Silvie has a variety of theatrical credits to her name, including Les Misérables, Cats, Miss Saigon, Chess and Mamma Mia. Silvie’s concert performances include lead artist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra.

South Australian families who are heading to Elder Park on Saturday will be spoilt for choice with pre-show festivities and family fun from 2pm.

Shauna Kane says, “Arrive early to enjoy what the whole day has to offer – visit Santa at the Torrens Transit bus stop, enjoy free face painting at the Nippy’s Drinks van, show off your skill at the Mix102.3 inflatable basketball hoop, visit the SA Power Networks truck for a free Santa hat, feast on free Original Recipe Chicken and chips from KFC or check out our 3D decorations from Adelaide City Libraries trike, plus much more!”

Adults can enjoy a taste of SA’s best beer, wine and gin at the Riverside Bar which will be serving up Smiling Samoyed’s local award-winning craft beer on tap, Adelaide Hills’ finest wines from Longview Vineyard and small batch Barossa-made gin from Seppeltsfield Road Distillers.

The City of Adelaide Pre-Show Concert begins at 5pm, hosted by former SANFL player, 7NEWS sports reporter and SA Weekender presenter, Andrew ‘Hayesy’ Hayes.

An impressive array of local artists will join him for the pre-entertainment, including the City International Gospel Choir, vocalists Emma Peluso, Elizabeth Ruyi, Genesis Holt and 21-year-old full-time musician, Emilio Lacar, returning for the second year.

Donna Dimasi, director and teacher at Dancers by Donna, will host a dance workshop as part of the pre-show entertainment.

In addition to the live performances, expect to see Tony Genovese bring his Cool 4 Kids Variety Show to the stage, promising to engage children with their Christmas puppetry, dancing, action and movement games the kids will love.

Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight supports Novita and asks patrons to contribute a folded note donation upon entry, with all proceeds going to support people living with a disability.

Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight is a FREE event for all South Australians to enjoy and will be televised on the Seven Network, Sunday, 8 December at 7pm. For more info, visit www.adelaidecarols.com.au.
