Are you a Toy Story fan? Did you cry your eyes out when Woody left at the end of number 4?
In news that will have Toy Story fanatics reeling, Disney have officially announced that there will be a fifth instalment of the popular franchise.
Toy Story takes place in a world where toys come to life when humans are not present. It follows the adventure of Woody, an old-fashioned pull-string cowboy doll who develops jealousy towards a modern space cadet action figure Buzz Lightyear.
The first film came out in 1995 and since then it has had three sequels: Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010), Toy Story 4 (2019), and the spin-off prequel film within a film Lightyear (2022).
But Toy Story isn’t the only series making a comeback. You’ll also be heading to the frozen kingdom of Arrendale again, with Frozen 3 officially in the works.
The Frozen journey began in 2016, when Princess Anna sets out on a journey with an iceman, Kristoff, and his reindeer, Sven after her sister Queen Elsa, who has banished herself to prevent her from converting objects and people into ice.
Then in 2019, Queen Elsa faces a dangerous journey into the unknown to restore an old injustice with Kristoff, Anna and Olaf.
But wait there’s more. The popular 2016 hit Zootopia will also get a sequel, with the city of conspiracy-chasing anthropomorphic causing chaos.
It was during Disney’s 2023 earnings call earlier today when CEO Bob Iger revealed that the company will resurrect some of the biggest titles in the company’s history.
Make sure there’s popcorn in the pantry, because these are going to be smash hits.
