Lyndoch’s The Table Cafe & Wine Bar has transformed its beer garden just in time for summer. With a fantastic new menu, wine of the month, and local brews, it’s set to be the ultimate spot to kick back and enjoy the sunshine.
The owner of The Table, Jenna, took over the cafe earlier in the year and has been working to fill a gap in Lyndoch’s dining offerings.
“I have been in the industry since I was 12, following my mum around. We owned the Lord Lyndoch for 16 years and my sister now owns the Vintage Chef Co in Evanston Park. I have travelled around working in hospitality but I felt like my life was missing a little something, and when this opportunity came about, I took it,” shared Jenna.
After working in the cafe over the past few months, Jenna set her sights on the beer garden, wanting to refresh it in time for the warmer weather.
“The shipping container in the beer garden was already there from the previous owners, but the staff who have worked here over the years never saw it in use. It was overgrown, so we’ve redone the painting and the decking and got the keg system working again.”
There is heaps of seating in the garden, with festoon lights and a sleek, all-black paint job on the shipping container-turned-bar. There’s also a grassy area perfect for kids to play.
“Each month we will be highlighting a local winery, and we’ll have live music on Friday nights. In November the wines we are sharing are from Thorn-Clarke Wines in Angaston.”
To pair with these fantastic wines, Jenna has created a new menu filled with starters and canapés.
“Throughout the summer we’ve got a separate dinner menu. There’s popcorn cauliflower, spring rolls, pork belly bites and buffalo wings,” but Jenna says her favourite item would be the new grazing board.
“I love the grazing platter, I’m a rosé and platter girl through and through.”
Expect a range of local goodies on the platter, including Lyndoch Valley butcher smoked ham and garlic mettwurst, Barossa Valley cheese co baby Bert and cheddar, Barossa Valley Zimmys beetroot relish and pickle relish, crackers and fresh fruit.
The Table Cafe & Wine Bar’s new Beer Garden will be open on Friday nights during daylight savings, with live music each week, a different local wine each month and local beers on tap. It’s the perfect place to enjoy after-work knockoffs or family gatherings.
