Travel: Sydney’s Bungalow 8 Mixes Harbour Views And Old-World Glamour

The sun-drenched bar, eatery and dance club boasts tropical beach vibes, with a bit of Beverly Hills old-world glamour.

When it comes to waterside dining, Sydney has things nailed. Whether it’s settling in for a meal with harbour views, or a drink with the ocean waves lapping nearby, you could very easily base an entire visit around eating by the water.

Sitting at Darling Harbour, with uninterrupted views across the water, Bungalow 8 is like a little escape right in the city.

The sun-drenched bar, eatery and dance club boasts tropical beach vibes, with a bit of Beverly Hills old-world glamour.

In the afternoon, it’s a spot for relaxed socialising and grazing, and the menu offers up enough to please most palates. Share dishes range from grilled chorizo or pork scratchings, to kingfish ceviche and spicy barbecue chicken wings. Or if you want your own meal to yourself, there are burgers, salads, seafood, or steaks, with plenty of gluten free options.

As the day turns to evening, it’s a relaxed spot for whiling away the hours, with a sophisticated cocktail list. You can settle in for a lazy afternoon with cocktail jugs – from mojitos, to sangria, or a blue banana colada.

And after dark? Well that’s dedicated to boogie-ing the night away until the early hours. Don’t forget to pack those dancing shoes!
