Travel The World In One Hour With NoMaD At Gluttony

NoMaD at Gluttony is billing their show as a 1 hour tour of the world of dance and music to celebrate Adelaide’s multiculturalism.

Ever wanted to travel the world in one night? In one hour, even? Sure, you may not be able to do that in the real world, but you can travel the globe through the music and dance of 16 international nomadic groups, that also celebrates the rich multiculturalism of Australia.

The launch of the 2017 NoMaD program (10 February) will include exhilarating live performances by several of this Fringe Festival event’s multicultural dance groups and will include photographs in traditional dress with Adelaide Lord Mayor – The Honourable Martin Haese.

The Hon Lord Mayor Martin Haese will first recognise and acknowledge Nancy Bates from Bates & Mates whose ancestry connects her to the first owners and nomads to Australia, the Hon Lord Mayor Martin Haese will then in turn welcome the newcomers; the 16 international other nomadic groups involved in the program that are all producing a rich and and contributory cultural life that adds to the ethnic kaleidoscope that is Adelaide.

This opening celebration will reference the the journey that has been taken by all of these performers that has made them people with a unique lifestyle and background. The event will welcome nomads from old including those from Spain, Italy, India, Greece. There are more recent era immigrants from China, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Turkey and Croatia. There is much excitement by event organisers to also welcome such diverse communities as the people from the Ukrainian, Burundian and Lebanese communities to the program this year.

With all SA based performers hailing from 16 different countries around the globe, NoMaD at Gluttony is billing their show as a one hour tour of the world of dance and music and as a worthy celebration of the rich multiculturalism of Adelaide.

Event times: 17th Feb to 5th of March – 5:30 PM at Gluttony
