The devastating events that continue to unfold in Afghanistan have been making international headlines all week, and a number of Adelaide restaurants have stepped up to offer aid.
Tucked away on Goodwood Road in the Heart of Goodwood is the much-loved Trouble and Strife cafe, who are doing their bit to support those in Afghanistan.
This Sunday, the beloved cafe will be opening to raise much needed funds for the Afghan Australian Development Association to help purchase emergency relief items including medicine, food, clothing and support.
100% of the proceeds from the day will be going to the organisation, with Trouble and Strife’s Clare Lennon often opening up the cafe for fundraisers that are close to her heart.
“Like most people, the sight of so much horror in Afghanistan at the moment, particularly for the children broke my heart, and I felt it was time for another T&S Fundraiser,” says Clare.

“We’ll open especially this Sunday 9am-12pm with coffee and cake, and we’ll be donating all our takings to try and help out. “Our regulars and lots of first timers have always been incredibly supportive of these events, and we’re sure they will be on Sunday too.”
Like most small hospitality businesses Trouble and Strife has struggled though recent times, with capacity restrictions making things particularly challenging, but still seeing their generosity shine through when others are in need.
Local musician David Robertson often seen busking for a cause at the Road’s Saturday morning events will be there, with his hat out to support the fundraiser.
If you can’t make it yourself on the day, donations can also be left at the cafe leading up to Sunday.
Trouble and Strife is located at 123 Goodwood Rd, Goodwood SA 5034.
