Calling all amateur and super sleuths! The ultimate gathering of true crime enthusiasts is coming to Victor Harbour for the inaugural True Crime Festival this August. Hosted by investigative journalist and true crime podcast host Bryan Littlely – whose SLEEPERS podcast has attracted more than 100,000 downloads since its launch in August last year – the bone-chilling three-day festival combines live podcasting, movies, presentations and bookstore appearances from some of the country’s top true crime experts.

Held across Victor Harbor’s Main Street precinct in various locations in the heart of winter, the festival kicks off at 5pm on Friday 21 August at the Victa Cinema with journalist and novelist Debi Marshall’s insights into the Snowtown murders, followed by a nail-biting movie screening, then moving on to the Grosvenor Hotel (the festival’s headquarters) for live music and mingling.

Festival highlights include free events with live entertainment, book signings and author appearances, panel discussions, breakfasts and afternoon teas, and live podcasting. Hot on the list of presenters include true crime gurus Sally Leydon, Adam Shand, and Asha Walther-McKenzie, with special appearances from forensic investigators, journalists and podcast hosts, all covering murder, mystery and mayhem in Adelaide.

The event is set to attract hundreds of locals and visitors, so get together with fellow true crime lovers and ponder some of the country’s greatest mysteries over a few beers, and soak up the festival atmosphere.

If you love solving mysteries and are itching to crack some of Australia’s most intriguing cold cases, you won’t want to miss the action this August when the festival comes to Victor for the first time.
