Are you ready to test your fitness levels? If you like a challenge, you’ll love True Grit’s 2026 military-inspired obstacle course, which is heading to the Barossa in May for the very first time.

Test your endurance physically and mentally with obstacles specifically designed for the beautiful and rugged terrain of the Barossa, including traverse ropes, a tyre wall, monkey bars, a sandbag carry, and pontoon bridges.

Designed for all fitness levels, you can navigate the obstacle either solo or in a team with your mates, and get a helping hand from other like-minded ‘Gritters’ if you don’t think you can do it alone.

There are two courses to choose from – either 5km or 10km – with ages 12+ permitted to take part in the 5km event, and the 10km event open to ages 16+.

Feeling confident? You can also compete as an Elite, where you get first access to the course, and the top three males and females will place on the victory podium and receive a prize at the presentation ceremony. Oh, and did we mention there is a 20-burpee penalty for Elites for every obstacle failed or not attempted?

Preparation is key, so it’s a good idea to get in shape before tackling the course, focusing on cross training in both upper body strength and lower body endurance.

Bring your enthusiasm and stamina, undertake the course safely and with access to medical treatment if required, and leave with a boost of confidence and a fancy finisher t-shirt!

For a full day of fun, mud and grit, this obstacle course is for your inner dare-devil. Have you got what it takes?
