Enter a world of whimsy and wonder when internationally-acclaimed theatrical masterpiece Alice in Wonderland comes to Adelaide in January.
Be transported to the world of Wonderland at Her Majesty’s Theatre these summer school holidays as you join Alice on her captivating and magical adventures.
The stage will come alive during the enchanting production that promises breathtaking costuming and puppetry as you’re swept away by ingenious stagecraft, which will leave both children and adults on the edge of their seats.
From the mysterious White Rabbit to the eccentric Mad Hatter, and of course, the uproarious Queen of Hearts, a cast of brilliant actors will perform as more than 20 peculiar characters. It will be as if the pages of Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic from 1865 have magically sprung to life.
The story of Alice follows a rabbit in a blue coat down a rabbit hole and finds herself in the mysterious and magical underground world called ‘Wonderland.’ She encounters fabulous creatures that defy all reasonable expectations, and after numerous adventures involving a Hatter, a Hare and the Queen of Hearts, she wakes up in time for tea.
The Alice in Wonderland stage performance stays true to the original book’s clever charm, with plenty of word play and pun-fuelled humour that will have older kids and grown-ups rolling in the aisles. Younger members of the audience are in for a treat with the vibrant cast of characters and uproarious physical comedy, courtesy of dynamic duo Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
This theatrical journey is more than just a performance, it’s an experience that will ignite your imagination and leave you grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
The show is directed and adapted by Penny Farrow and produced by Broadway Haus in association with Bonnie Lythgoe Productions.
