As the Christmas cheer and the festive season starts to fade, continue to spread love, happiness and joy throughout the community this holiday period.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation is asking Australians to turn their unwanted Christmas gift cards into happiness for sick kids – whether it’s donating the remaining amount on any used gift card, or re-gifting unwanted Christmas vouchers.

From cinema gift vouchers for the family to enjoy, a retail voucher for the kids to get new games and toys, or a holiday accommodation voucher for the family to spend precious time together, all donations are warmly welcomed by Starlight (via online or post), and can make a real difference in someone’s life.

“There is no greater gift for sick kids and their families than joy and laughter,” said National Partnerships Manager Matt Geraghty.

“Starlight relies on the generosity of the community to continue delivering positive experiences for seriously ill children when they need it the most.

“This brand-new initiative by Starlight not only innovates the way we fundraise in the not-for-profit space, but will spread the Christmas cheer that little bit further.”

The Starlight Children’s Foundation brightens the lives of seriously ill and hospitalized children and young people by replacing pain, fear and stress with fun, joy and laughter.

Since opening in 1998, Starlight has become on of Australia’s most far-reaching and reputable charities for children, and was awarded the AFR’s Most Innovative company in 2020. There is now a Starlight Express Room in nine children’s hospitals across Australia and 160 Captain Starlights nationwide. The charity has gifted over 386,944 positive and memorable experiences since its opening.
