Burnside City Council has shared a progress shot of the highly-anticipated Tusmore Park wading pool redevelopment, due for reopening this summer.
A long-time favourite amongst families, particularly those with toddlers, Tusmore’s wading pool has been closed so that the infrastructure can undergo a much needed face-lift.

Following community feedback, Burnside Council supported the need for retaining a new shallow pool that incorporates three water play features, plus a creek-style play area that will have the little ones occupied for hours through the warmer months.

The re-development, estimated at $1.7million, is currently right on schedule, with the pool due to be ready in early 2022, just in time for the summer months and school holidays.
At over 50 years old, the Tusmore Park wading pool was well-overdue for a refurbishment, and feedback given from the public back in November last year has brought it to it’s current stage in development.
Along with the new water play areas and creek, the design will include fencing around the pool and a section of the adjoining lawn to ensure the littlest family members remain safe during their visit.

The much-awaited opening will have parents and families alike flocking to the facility to cool-off during our hot summer months, and like many, we can’t wait to see the final and finished result!
