There are few things that spark joy more than that of melted cheese. The rich, gooey treat is a Winter tradition in the European wonderland of Switzerland and the tradition is alive and well in the Adelaide Hills, with the award-winning Udder Delights Cheese Cellar bringing the quintessential Swiss dish back to life.
After its massive success in years past (turns out people love cheese, who knew?!) the team at Udder Delights felt it was only right to bless us with the melted treat once more. Located at its new home at Grunthal Brew, the Udder Delights fondue is back on the menu and available now to enjoy as the cooler weather sets in.

“The origins of the fondue, which had friends socialising in the Switzerland Alps sitting around a pot of bubbling cheese while sipping wine around 800BC, so it’s a time-honoured custom we thought deserved to be revived,” Sheree Sullivan, Director and General Manager at Udder Delights said.
The fondue for two – and that’s two adults with BIG appetites – costs just $59 and comes with a range of dip-able sides.
“It’s all about conviviality, where groups can catch up at our Adelaide Hills cellar door and savour the deliciousness of yummy morsels – including Barossa Fine Foods double-smoked Kransky, cornichons, mini balsamic pickled onions, Adelaide Hills seasonal fruit and lots of hot, freshly baked baguettes – dipped into a mouth-watering, molten cheese lava.
Of course, to keep your palate grounded and keep you from having the cheesy goodness tip you over the edge, there’ll be plenty available to help wash it down with the Grunthal’s own beer brewed on site are readily available as well as its own range of delicious gins.

It also just so happens to be National Cheese Day tomorrow (Saturday June 4th) so if that isn’t a good enough reason to get some fondue, then I don’t know what is!
Udder Delights Cellar is located at Grunthal Brew – 827 Mount Barker Rd, Verdun SA 5245
