Udder Delights release special cheese to raise funds for farmers’ mental health

The Adelaide Hills-based cheese producers have released a new double cream brie, with a percent of profits going towards farmer’s health.

In a new and inspiring initiative, leading Adelaide Hills cheesemakers Udder Delights have created a special new cheese with the aim of raising funds for the health and wellbeing of farmers and agricultural industry workers.

Their new Udder Delights Double Cream Brie is now being sold at Coles and select retailers nationwide, with 20 cents of each sale being donated to the National Centre for Farmer Health, which supports farming communities by training the next generation, building capacity in the rural health and agriculture workforce, developing farmer-focused resources and health check programs, and giving guidance in challenging situations.

Since 2008, the National Centre for Farmer Health has played a significant role in supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of farming communities, and has since become a trusted point of contact for those in the industry. This new initiative has been developed while Udder Delights celebrates 25 years of artisan cheesemaking by giving back to farmers who have helped their business grow.

General Manager of Marketing and Sales, Phil Donnellan, said, “It was so important to us to support farmers across Australia and internationally after the close relationship we’ve had with many over the years.

“Choosing an Udder Delights’ Double Cream Brie is not only a delicious choice, but it also contributes towards the health and prosperity of the agricultural industry.”

Located in Lobethal, Udder Delights has worked with local dairies throughout their 25 year history, sourcing milk locally to create their high quality cheeses. What is now an established icon in the Adelaide Hills, their factory produces 800,000 kilograms of handmade cheese annually, featuring a number of SA household staples like their creamy brie and velvety camembert.

By working with farmers in the local region, the company have reduced their food miles, with the majority of their dairy sourced within 15 minutes from the factory. Now a leading producer of cheese in South Australia, Udder Delights are proud to give back to industry workers with this new initiative.

So to support the health and wellbeing of farmers and agricultural workers, whilst also adding a delicious option to your next cheeseboard, be sure to purchase Udder Delights’ new Double Cream Brie, available at Coles and select independent retailers across the nation.
