Unico Zelo to open Adelaide’s most intimate wine bar

With room for just five guests at a time, Unico Go is set to be Adelaide’s most intimate wine bar, that will also double as a podcast studio.

You may have tuned into Unico Zelo’s Wine for the People Facebook live series where owner, Brendan Carter, chats all things wine with local gurus in the industry.

The hour-long videos, insightful as they are boozy, are your go-to if you’re wanting to expand your wine knowledge and prosper your inner sommelier.

This mantra has continued into Unico Zelo’s latest project, a brand new wine bar in the heart of Rundle Street at BRKLYN.

Named Unico Go, the bar will basically be a wine pitstop, housing just five hot seats for you and your mates to sip on whatever Brendan and the Unico Zelo team have chosen for the day.

Unico Zelo’s mission will be still the same at the new venue: “To democratise, familiarise and socialise around the product we love the most: Wine!”

“Unico Go is inspired by the small Japanese natural wine bars littered across the country – ‘Go’ meaning ‘Five’ in Japanese – is represented in the venue itself: Five Seats: Five Rotating Wines On The List,” says Brendan.

“There’s a tonne of talented sommeliers in Adelaide – and particularly up-and-comers – so we hope we can also have a rotating schedule of different somms that can craft a perfect wine-fuelled evening for our guests!” he continues.

“The opportunity to take over the podcasting and recording studio at BRKLYN was too good to pass up – we’ve been trying to work together for the last few years, but the timing just wasn’t right.

“The chance to take our live streams to the next level, and branch out into podcasting whilst also offering an ultra-tiny wine bar, adding to the unique landscape of wine offerings in Adelaide CBD was just too bloody good!” says Brendan.

Unico Go is set to be open in December.

The bar, just as Wine for the People, will be live-streamed to the masses so no one misses out.
