One of the nation’s best award winning young playwrights, Finegan Kruckemeyer, will be divulging his secrets of creating worlds and the characters and landscape that make up those fictional worlds, as part of SA Writers Centre’s Writing Boot Camp for Teens these April school holidays.
Comprising of four days, each day will be dedicated to a different aspect of the writing industry, including Fiction Monday, Digital Tuesday, Publishing Wednesday and Playwriting Thursday, to ensure that participants get a broad understanding of the industry, covering all bases and hopefully discovering their passion or their niche area.
We believe that it’s never too young to get published so we’re bringing in our young editors project, Dubnium, to spend a day talking about how to publish work successfully. Dubnium’s first anthology of work, created by young South Australians, sold out its first print run and continues to sell. They are currently working on the second volume.
‘These boot camps are one of our favourite projects here at the Centre. The enthusiasm that the students bring is unparalleled and we’re never ceased to be surprised by the talent and the writing that comes out of them,’ Sarah Tooth, Director, SA Writers Centre.
If you have or know a creative child make sure you pass on this information about an incredible opportunity to help their skills flourish.
