Multi-award winning accommodation operators, Rick and Cathy Edmonds, have added another award category to their collection, winning South Australia’s best new development gong at the 2014 South Australian Tourism Awards.

The awards were announced last Friday night (November 14) in a glittering gala presentation at the Adelaide Convention Centre in front of over 600 representatives of the South Australian tourism industry.

Their entry encompassed the conception, creation and fulfillment of The Frames, and it will now go on to represent South Australia at the national tourism awards, to be held in Adelaide on Friday April 10, 2015.

Located in the riverside township of Paringa, near Renmark, The Frames is an ultra-luxury accommodation complex. The development is the result of extensive research in both the need for high quality, environmentally sustainable accommodation in the Riverland, and the desire for Rick and Cathy to expand their successful ‘Emaroo Cottages’ business which now offers self-contained, deluxe accommodation across three states.

Designed by award-winning architect, Paul Pruszinski, The Frames features three distinct retreats of uncompromising luxury, set on a cliff-top with views over the River Murray.

Each opulent retreat is totally private and features a pool, Jacuzzi and a state of the art entertainment facility.

Marketed as a romantic place to reconnect, rejuvenate and relax, the majority of guests since its opening in February 2014 have been celebrating wedding anniversaries and special ‘couple’ occasions.

“ We are proud of the new development, passionate about the Riverland and tourism in general and we are truly honoured to bring home another win for the region”, Cathy said.

This year’s South Australian Tourism Awards attracted a record number of entries as the program celebrates 31 years since its introduction.

Features of the new development that particularly impressed judges were excellence in the planning of tourism infrastructure and services, with a focus on entrepreneurial vision, harmonious integration with the environment, design and functionality and uniqueness of the property.
