Unleash your adventurous side with Adelaide Zoo Nights back this summer

“Zoo Nights” are back this summer at the Adelaide Zoo with an exciting change.

Adelaide Zoo is all set to offer a unique and enchanting experience this summer, with its much-anticipated “Zoo Nights” event. This seasonal celebration allows visitors to soak up the charm of balmy summer nights while surrounded by the captivating sounds of the animal kingdom.

Adelaide Zoo, managed by Zoos South Australia, has long been a cherished destination for animal enthusiasts and families. Established in 1883, it holds the distinction of being the second oldest zoo in Australia, and its rich history is steeped in a commitment to wildlife conservation and education. Today, it houses an impressive collection of over 1,800 animals from around the globe.

In 2023, the Adelaide Zoo had a number of wins including granting assistance dogs access for the every first time, getting a new tiger cub, and taking out top spot for best tourism attraction in Australia at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.

This year, Adelaide Zoo is thrilled to introduce an exciting change to its popular Zoo Nights event. In a departure from previous editions, the zoo will remain open and accessible to visitors between the regular day session and the Zoo Nights event.

This means that individuals holding a day ticket can extend their stay to enjoy the tranquil surroundings as twilight descends, while those with event tickets can enter from 4 pm onwards, gaining extra hours to savour the evening ambiance.

While Zoo Nights offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore Adelaide Zoo by sundown, it’s important to note that the animals may have their own bedtime plans, which could result in them being less active or less visible. However, this provides a unique chance for visitors to observe the animals in a different light, quite literally. Who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of Sumatran Tigers enjoying a cozy snuggle.

Zoo Nights is a limited-time experience, taking place on three nights only: January 5th, 12th, and 19th. The event runs from 4 pm to 8:30 pm, with the last entry permitted at 8 pm. For Zoos SA members, admission to Zoo Nights is absolutely free.
