If you have an interest in true crime stories and a love for wine, get ready for a gripping evening of intrigue and suspense at ‘True Crime and a Glass of Wine’ in Victor Harbor this December.
This event is a starting point for a festival in 2024/25 and will be an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine while perhaps even playing a part in solving a crime that has baffled investigators for half a century.
A highlight of the evening will be an interactive presentation by seasoned investigative journalist Bryan Littlely. With his wealth of experience in the field, Bryan will dive into the gripping world of true crime, sharing insights from various cases he’s covered throughout his career- including a 50-year-old Adelaide cold case known as the ‘Adelaide Oval Abductions.’
In 1973, during a packed Aussie Rules football match, two young girls called Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Jane Gordon mysteriously vanished after leaving their family to take a toilet break. Witnesses recounted seeing a man wearing a distinctive hat leading the girls away, but shockingly, no charges have ever been laid in this case. Spooky stuff, right?
Their disappearance, which is presumed to have led to an abduction and murder, became one of South Australia’s most infamous crimes.
Bryan will take attendees on a journey through his investigation, unveiling never-before-seen details and conducting exclusive, in-person eyewitness interviews. He will discuss how he, along with his team of amateur investigators, pieced together what really happened on that fateful day, and who was responsible.
Bryan will no doubt have attendees on the edge of their seats and eager to discover the truth behind this decades-old mystery.
True Crime and a Glass of Wine will be an evening of engaging with the mysteries that continue to haunt our community. You will delve into the mysteries of unsolved crimes with friends while listening to talks, interviews, and presentations from industry professionals, which will all take place live and in-person.
The event’s venue also adds a touch of history to the experience, as it will all unfold at the historic Victa Cinema on Ocean Street in the charming coastal town.
Event organisers are hoping to build True Crime and a Glass of Wine up into a must-attend event for true crime enthusiasts and tourists alike.
Upon arrival to the event, attendees will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of wine. So, get ready to soak in the suspense with a glass of wine in hand.
