Uraidla’s first-ever sustainability fair is set to kick off this weekend on Sunday 3 October, at the Uraidla Showgrounds.

Showcasing a delightful selection of local growers, renewable energy exhibitors, delicious food and wine, ethical fashion, and much more- the Uraidla Sustainable Fair is sure to be a hit for the loveable Adelaide Hills town.

Aiming to bring sustainability issues to the forefront of people’s mind, Uraidla Sustainability Fair committee members hope the free annual fair will encourage visitors to engage, connect, and celebrate the beauty of the environment.

Progressing towards a greener future, the fair will be home to a number of expert presenters and knowledge-rich exhibitors who will offer their inspiring and practical sustainability advice.

Set to feature an impressive lineup of local and travelling creators, the fair will provide a fun and educational experience for singles and families.

Visitors can expect to see live entertainment, with ethereal tunes by Andrew McNicol, stunning acoustics by Elli Belle, forest-folk old timers by Aidan Jones, and Gypsy Jazz by Adelaide’s funnest swing troupe, The Various Nefarious.

Armed with a double bass, violin, clarinet, accordion, several specialised lutes, and six lungs bellowing with song- The Various Nefarious is a performance you won’t want to miss.

With your background music sorted, visitors will have a field day roaming through some of the best sustainable products the state has to offer.

Setting up shop will be Simply Vintage Trading and Lillie Elton- eclectic exhibitors offering specialised and quirky selections of preloved clothing, shoes, and accessories. From gowns and dresses, coats and jackets, vintage shirts and sweaters, to more contemporary garments, bags and shoes- there is a unique and broad appeal to all.

Also showcasing at the fair is The Mummy Retreat, the Adelaide Hills creator offering self care kits, affirmation cards, and natural products for local mothers. While the parents keep busy here, the kids can hit up Mini Mad Things to find an awesome range of plastic free craft boxes, and eco friendly art supplies for their next big craft project.

Accommodating for adult craft-lovers too, the Uraidla Sustainability Fair will feature an incredible range of reclaimed metal and wood products, created by eco-conscious designers and artists.

The dog friendly event will even have your pooches sorted with Bone Appetite Barkery and Purl and Friends providing homemade dog treats, nourishment activities, toys and accessories.

To fill your own bellies and cure your caffeine cravings, local sweet and savoury favourites will be on offer by various sustainable food vendors- with Hokey Pokey, Four Seeds, Alice Badger Wonderland, and Basket Range Baker amongst some of the favourites.

The Uraidla Sustainability Fair will be held on Sunday 3 October from 10am to 4pm at the Uraidla Showgrounds.

The Uraidla Showgrounds can be found at 86 Swamps Rd, Uraidla.
