Vale Taphouse brings Sunset Sessions to your Friday nights this summer

The Vale Taphouse in McLaren Vale are hosting their Sunset Sessions—the perfect way to enjoy Friday night knock-offs this summer!

If you’re looking for an excuse to escape the city and head to one of McLaren Vale’s most picturesque estates for a summer’s night of good food, great brew and laidback tunes, then we have just the event for you!

Vale Taphouse, located in McLaren Vale, is hosting their first-ever annual Sunset Sessions event this summer, welcoming locals and all South Aussies to enjoy a change of scenery for Friday night knockoffs complete with scenic views—making it the perfect place to spend a summer evening and to experience SA’s most beautiful sunsets.

Chris Illman, Head of Marketing and Sales for Vale Taphouse, is excited to be hosting this new event and offering something different in the region.

‘Our Sunset Sessions provide the best knock-off views in the region on a Friday arvo and is something we wanted to offer throughout the warmer months as there isn’t a lot of Friday night options in McLaren Vale’, says Chris.

Happening every second Friday throughout summer (and a bonus sesh on January 26th), with the next Sunset Session this Friday, the 5th of January, Vale Taphouse invites everyone to come and unwind at the end of the work week at their free, family-friendly event—even pooches are welcome too!

With live acoustic performances from local artist Jess Kent (and Brad Lee on the 19th of January), delicious food, and the estate’s wines and beers on tap, you can kick back on the venue’s lush lawns adorned with festoon lighting and comfy bean bags and rugs, creating the most idyllic setting.

‘It’s also a great opportunity to try our newly launched lawn menu and our Taphouse Limited Release brews, including the newly launched Parched Az – New Zealand Pilsner’, says Chris.

The newly curated Lawn Menu by John Rankin, Head Chef at Beresford Estate, is designed to complement the laid-back atmosphere, focusing on easily shareable plates crafted from seasonal and locally sourced produce. From sliders to pizzas to their beef fat potato chips (the best in their opinion!), there is something to satisfy all tummies and tastebuds.

The limited edition pilsner is also inspired by the summer season and claims to be more refreshing than a Tasman sea breeze on a North Island summer’s day. Brewed with New Zealand’s renowned Nelson Sauvin hops that deliver notes of passionfruit, gooseberry and wine grapes, the Parched Az is a kick-back worthy combination of malt and fruity flavour.

If you wanna get your hands (or your lips) on this new brew, it’s only available to try at the Vale Taphouse and can be purchased in cartons or six packs—but you gotta be quick to get your hands on this summer drop; there are only 100 cartons available.

And, whilst there are beer-tasting flights on offer at the Taphouse starting at $20 for a flight of five, if beer just ain’t your thing, why not indulge in a gin or wine tasting that are both on offer throughout the Sunset Sessions?

Situated among historic vines, salty sea air, and a vibrant local community, the Vale Taphouse is committed to crafting exceptional brews in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, and the team invite you to gather your friends, workmates or even just your four-legged friends and head down south the enjoy their exclusive Sunset Sessions this January—the laidback vibes perfectly embody the spirit of summer nights in SA.
