Van Gogh Alive extends season due to popular demand

The incredible immersive art event taking place in Adelaide’s North, will continue to delight audiences with its interactive and colourful exhibitions for an extended run.

It’s the multi-sensory experience that’s the talk of the town and due to overwhelming demand, Van Gogh Alive will enrapture Adelaide audiences for an extra three weeks as the season has been extended until Sunday 22 August!

Housed in the huge purpose-built 70m x 25m digital gallery (the Grand Pavilion) on O’Connell St, Van Gogh Alive has enthralled tens of thousands of South Australians as more than 75,000 tickets have been sold for the immersive experience that allows visitors to literally step inside Van Gogh’s world.

Originally scheduled to run from July 1 to August 1, the season’s been extended until at least August 22 as a way to thank South Australians for their passionate support, as Adelaide was the first city to experience Van Gogh Alive in the Grand Pavilion; the world’s largest transportable exhibition building. To celebrate the extended season, Van Gogh Alive will be announcing special events to run in the coming weeks.

Housed in the Grand Pavilion, which was constructed in Germany under the supervision of South Australian company spanIT, the digital gallery took 64 locals almost six weeks to construct and fit-out on the old Le Cornu site in North Adelaide and is wrapped in a visually stunning floral exterior.

The Grand Pavilion will house Van Gogh Alive for its entire Adelaide run before touring to Brisbane,
Canberra, Perth and Newcastle.

Says Bruce Peterson, Van Gogh Alive’s owner and creator: “Van Gogh Alive is an exceptionally innovative multi-sensory experience that took 18 months and countless iterations over the past decade to create.

“It was the very first of its kind in the world. Van Gogh Alive has really redefined the way many people around the world engage with art and culture and it has brought tremendous pleasure to audiences old and young, experienced and inexperienced in art and culture.”
