Vans The Omega Is Returning To Hit Adelaide With Another Amazing Street Art Piece

It’s no secret that we love a bit of good street art here at Glam Adelaide, so we’re excited to hear that at last the new mural on Goodwood Road is about to become a reality.

It’s no secret that we love a bit of good street art here at Glam Adelaide, so we’re excited to hear that at last the new mural on the side of the iconic Capri Theatre on Goodwood Road is about to become a reality.

The talented duo, Vans the Omega and Jake Holmes’ final product will represent good old Aussie cinema, the Capri’s beautiful architecture and its mighty Wurlitzer organ, and is expected to take a couple of weeks to complete.

While it’s happening, the Capri suggests you settle in at either Cru Tapas Bar and Kitchen or Two Sisters Food and Wine directly opposite the mural and check out its progress. Both places can fix you up with a $10 ticket to then see a movie. This deal is available ’til the end of May.

For the dedicated cine-philes, there’s a competition happening. The mural is more of an abstract representation so they want you to name all the movies that feature in the mural, and you could win a one of two $50 vouchers – one for Cru and one for Two Sisters. Get all the details for that comp here.

The Capri mural won’t be alone on Goodwood Road. Have you seen the pieces on The Basin Haircutters building – facing the tramline – there’s a new one been added recently. And many folks still puzzle at the one on the side of Gingers Coffee Studio – is it finished, or isn’t it?

And while we’re talking Goodwood Road and art, the goody people are currently calling for artists to display their work in the Road’s shops, restaurants and cafes during the year’s South Australian Living Artists Festival in August. SALA is always a big month on Goodwood Road, with a launch event and lots of promotion, and it’s well worth getting involved. There’s an artist’s info sheet and a list of available venues – email [email protected] to get your painty hands on them.
