On May 1, for the first time ever, The Lion Hotel will be hosting an exclusive lunch to raise money for Young Variety; the next generation of fundraisers for Variety – the Children’s Charity of South Australia.
The event will include a delicious three course meal and is limited to 100 people with Variety Ambassador and Olympic Paralympian Matthew Cowdrey OAM presenting as the key note speaker.
Phil Harris from Harris Real Estate is hosting the auction which includes a once in a life time opportunity to fly in a Fighter Jet, valued over $4,000.
The Lion co- owner Tim Gregg is excited to host the lunch and hopes it will become a regular event.
“Variety is a great charity, not only do they assist South Australian children in need but they also fund several other charities in the state, being an SA owned business we are so pleased to support a charity that helps so many local children, including disadvantaged youth,” he said.
The money raised from the day will go towards assisting South Australian disadvantaged youths. Previously Young Variety has hosted events which have raised funds for a number of South Australian initiatives, including funding a breakfast program for the Burra Community School to ensure their 230 students start their day on a full tummy.
Young Variety Chair Josh Pugh, says having The Lion come on board to support Variety is a true honour.
“I’m very excited to be hosting such a fantastic event with The Lion Hotel. Young Variety has long had a great relationship with The Lion and this event is one that we hope to continue well into the future. Our plan is to connect the young people of Adelaide with a wide variety of networks in new and exciting ways in order to spread the work of Variety SA; and this event is another perfect way to do that,” he said.
