One of Adelaide’s most boundary-pushing restaurants has unveiled a number of tasty new additions to its entirely vegan menu, much to the delight of plant-based patrons who regularly queue around the block to secure a table at the popular eatery.

Crux, which opened in 2018 as a humble coffee shop, is a completely vegan and gluten free venue who have created a huge impact since their launch, making a nation-wide splash by offering the first fully plant-based Eggs Benedict dish in Australia, using an ingenious recipe of tomato and cashews to create an egg that looks so convincing, you would have to double check it was actually vegan.

Responding to the popularity of their venue and upping the creative vegan bar they’ve set for themselves, Crux have unveiled four delicious new menu items that give unrivalled options to Adelaide vegans looking for a bit more variety when dining out.

The new menu items include:

Brekky Quesadilla

Double cheese (cheddar and smoked gouda), tofu scramble, bacon pieces, hollandaise sauce, salsa, lime and paprika mayo served in warm, toasted tortillas.

The Big Brek

Tofu scramble, sausage, tomato, spinach, toast, hash browns and their house made gluten free bacon (the first in Australia!)

Chickn N Gravy Baby

Fried chickn, fries, house gravy and slaw.

And for the sweet-toothed vegan visitors… a decadent stack of Cinnamon Scroll Pancakes, piled high with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon syrup, cream cheese frosting, raspberry compote and pistachios. (Customers can even add house bacon for that so-wrong-its-right combination of sweet and savoury)

The venue have also brought back a much-loved dish, the BLT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and mayo in toasted sandwich bread) which joins their existing staple dishes, the Bae, Benny, DBL and McCrux.

Uploading regularly to their popular TikTok channel, Crux film behind-the-scenes café footage and mini tutorials on how they make their incredible dishes, including their mind-bogglingly realistic vegan egg.

Describing themselves as ‘Adelaide’s most rule breaking, outspoken, fully vegan restaurant’ Crux are well on their way to achieve their mission to ‘innovate and execute the most boundary pushing vegan food’.

Crux is open Wednesday – Sunday 9am til 2pm.
