Vegan haven Veggie Vie is planting its roots in a new venue and they have officially opened.

The beloved plant-based restaurant has left its Regent Arcade space, where it has been stationed for more than six years, and has headed to a larger venue on McHenry Street.

The café is, for the most part, “staying the same;” It’s keeping the same owners, same staff, and same popular dishes, but it will have some upgrades too. Veggie Vie will now have longer opening hours in their expanded venue, allowing for dinnertime trade in the CBD location, as well as outdoor seating. The new space will see more breakfast items, such as croissants and porridge, as well as new dishes for dinner.

“There aren’t many places that are 100% vegan and open for dinner in the city, so we’re excited to bring that to Adelaide,” Manu Parez, who co-owns Veggie Vie with Monica Watts, says.

“We’re going to keep some lunch menu items for dinner, but it also gives us the opportunity to be a little creative with the plating and make things we can’t make for lunch.”

Veggie Vie’s new spot also has a liquor licence and a vegan drinks list to go along with their plant-based meals. They will also launch a nonalcoholic drinks menu.

The popular spot has long served delicious burgers, salads, smoothies, and more. The new venue will continue to sling vegan favourites such as a haloumi burger, a barbecue jackfruit burger, a tofu and pumpkin salad, pumpkin and rice balls, hot pot, smoothie bowls, coffee, and more.

While the restaurant is “SUPER excited” for the change of scene, they’re sad to leave the Regent Arcade spot they’ve called home for nearly seven years.

“The Regent Arcade has been a great space for us for the last 6.5 years, and we’re so grateful to our customers for supporting us,” they write.

“It’s because of all of you we’re so happy to make this move and do a little expansion.”

The venue will be closed for the month of July and will reopen in their new space come August. Keep an eye out for updates on the new Veggie Vie!
