Botanic Park Continues To Bring The Party To The Parklands

With WOMADelaide done and dusted for another year, the bump in for Carlos Santana & His Band, with Special Guests The Doobie Brothers & Russell Morris will commence shortly.

It’s a busy time in Botanic Park, with the lush destination fast becoming a regular site for leisure and entertainment for Adelaideans.

With Womad done and dusted for another year, the bump in for Carlos Santana & His Band, with Special Guests The Doobie Brothers & Russell Morris will commence shortly.

This all follows the inaugural ‘concert in the park’ in February with James Taylor and there’s more to come. Watch this space…..

In the meantime, the countdown is on for Santana on 9th April.

Legendary guitar virtuoso, multi Grammy Award winner and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Carlos Santana, and his band SANTANA, will take to the stage at Botanic Park, once again this venue is the perfect setting for music under the stars, set in one of our beautiful parklands nestled right next to the City, with neighbours from the African Jungle….it has a very unique atmosphere and fill it with adoring music fans the energy becomes electric.

SANTANA returns to our shores performing songs from over four decades of his career including hits and songs of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Delivered with a level of passion and soul equal to the legendary sonic charge of his guitar.

The passion infused, melodic sound of CARLOS SANTANA’s guitar is one of the world’s best-known musical signatures. For more than four decades – from Santana’s earliest days as a groundbreaking Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion outfit in San Francisco – Carlos has been the visionary force behind artistry that transcends musical genres and generational, cultural and geographical boundaries.

THE DOOBIE BROTHERS’ legacy has been built not just on hit records, but also on an unrivalled commitment to musical integrity and a steadfast allegiance to their enthusiastic fan base. With founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, and 30 year-plus veteran John McFee, The Doobies will be performing as a seven-piece band including Bill Payne, Ed Toth, John Cowan and Marc Russo.

Rounding out a vibrant three-act bill for a special one-off performance at Adelaide’s Botanic Park on Sunday 9th April is local icon RUSSELL MORRIS. Known for his global 1969 hit ‘The Real Thing’, Russell has in recent years received widespread acclaim for his Australiana blues trilogy of albums.
