Victoria buffer zone and transit routes expanded in SA

The buffer zone on either side of the border will be extended from 40km to 70km.

South Australia’s border with Victoria will be undergoing further changes to the relief of border communities.

The buffer zone on either side of the border will be extended from 40km to 70km.

This legal direction will come into place, effective as of midnight tomorrow night.

From Thursday morning and onwards, border communities will regain more of their past allowances in travelling across the border for school, medicine, and other needs.

The second change announced effects road travellers who will now be allowed to transit through Mildura without the requirement of 14 days of quarantine.

Those entering SA from NSW or the ACT can transit through Mildura, as long as they do not stop along the way.

Police border checks will be in place to prevent Victorians and those from Mildura from entering SA.

The AFL preliminary crowd numbers are also under review with SA Premier, Steven Marshall stating that the capacity will be revealed closer to the game.

More to come.
