Victor’s Place, a Winery, Brewery and Kitchen, located on a rural property at the gateway to McLaren Vale, is about to turn one.
Husband and wife duo Alan Varney and Kathrin Dressler are the force behind this family-run venue, which sits amongst the rolling hills of the Onkaparinga Gorge.
The pair created Victor’s Place by restoring an historic limestone barn dating back to 1870.
The finished product creates an intimate, relaxed environment which oozes rustic charm.
Alan has over 10 years of winemaking experience in McLaren Vale, particularly at d’Arenberg. He is the Varney Wines Winemaker and Brewer creating all produce from within Victor’s Place.
Their wines are produced from grape varieties that are carefully selected from vineyards throughout specific sub-regions of McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.
The beers on offer are also all made at the on-site Brewery, crafted to suit the season.
Currently you can purchase Session Pale, IPA, Red Rye IPA, ESB and Stout. The venue has just created a new beer called Semillon Saison Sour, which is the first of their “Grape and Grain” co-ferments.
To accompany the drinks, Victor’s Place has an all-day kitchen offering shared dinning experiences.
Head Chef, Jesse White uses seasonal ingredients sourced locally from the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The venue also offers gift cards ranging form $50-$200, which is the perfect present idea.
Visit Victor’s Place at 62 Victor Harbor Rd, Old Noarlunga, SA, 5168.
Open Thursday to Monday from 11am until late.
